A Glasgow court has set a 15-day trial beginning 14 February 2028 for seven people accused of damaging the Trump Turnberry golf resort. The schedule was fixed at a High Court hearing on Wednesday, 28 October. All seven remain on bail, according to reports by the BBC and The Independent.
Prosecutors allege the group damaged property at the Ayrshire resort during a protest on 8 March 2025. The accusations include digging up golf-course turf, applying glyphosate or another herbicide to greens and fairways, and spraying or marking political slogans on the grounds and buildings. The indictment also alleges damage to a sprinkler system caused flooding and that a light was broken.
The charge is alleged to have a terrorist connection, according to the indictment as described by both reports. Kieran Robson, Uzma Bashir and Rebecca Sian Davies also face a separate allegation that they tried to defeat the ends of justice by using vehicles with false registration numbers to conceal their movements. These are allegations, not findings of guilt.
At the hearing, not-guilty pleas were entered for six defendants. Ricky Southall’s lawyer said she had only recently taken on his case and needed more time to take instructions. The court also scheduled a further preliminary hearing for March 2027. The reports say the trial is expected to last 15 days; the accused remain on bail while the case proceeds.
