The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has asked an Icelandic web hosting company to remove a website containing data on thousands of its employees, including those from Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The company, FlokiNET, received a letter from cybersecurity firm ZeroFox on behalf of DHS, accusing it of violating terms of service by publishing a dataset labeled 'stolen.' The letter warned that the content exposes over 40,000 individuals to risks of harassment and physical harm.

FlokiNET declined to comply and stated that the public has a legitimate interest in knowing who carries out enforcement work and under what authority. The data was first shared by the activist group Distributed Denial of Secrets, which has previously released information from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and Israeli authorities.

A hacker group called the Department of Peace claimed responsibility for obtaining the data through a sign-in service used in internal systems.

The Trump administration has taken a firm stance against platforms hosting data about ICE personnel, as seen in prior actions involving tech companies.
